How One Bag Works

How your trip pays you back

  • Travel light

Take a trip with one bag and actually use your gear. Airport sprints and overstuffed hostel lockers count as testing.

  • Write it up with your receipt

Tell us what held up, what didn’t, and which zipper you’d happily throw in a lake. Attach the receipt so we know the gear is really yours.

  • Get a gift card

Once your report is approved, choose a gift card from a wide selection of brands. Then start planning the next trip.

Packing in practice

Gear we cover

What we want to hear about

If it went in your bag, or it is your bag, we’re interested.

Bags

Backpacks, duffels, and the roller you swore you’d never buy. Tell us how it carried on day six and whether it really fit in the overhead bin.

Packing cubes

Compression claims are cheap. Did yours actually squeeze anything, and did the seams survive it?

Tech pouches

Where the cables live. Did everything fit, or did your charger end up loose at the bottom of the bag again?

Toiletry kits

Hanging hooks, leaky bottles, security bins. We want the whole damp story.

our one rule

Say what you actually think

Your gift card never depends on a positive review. A report that saves someone from a bad bag is worth just as much to us as one that praises a great one.

Sample Trip Reports

What people actually carried

Traveler in a bucket hat taking a mirror selfie with an orange roller suitcase and a tan tote

Packing Cubes

3 weeks from Oaxaca to Mexico City

The compression zipper made room for souvenirs, but one seam gave out by week three.

FAQS

Frequently asked questions

Who can submit a trip report?

Anyone who has traveled with the gear they’re reviewing and still has the receipt. Submissions are invite-only for now, so request a spot and we’ll reach out when one opens.

It’s how we know you bought the bag and didn’t just admire it on a store shelf. We use it to verify your purchase and nothing else.

Specifics. How long you were gone, how the gear held up, and what you’d tell a friend before they buy it.

After your report is approved, we’ll email you to pick one from hundreds of brands. No points to track and no minimums to hit.
